I find myself thinking – is anyone else doing what I’m doing or am I just odd?

1. Face down in bed
2. Checking e-mails on his spare, slightly broken phone
3. Listening to Classic FM in his right ear
4. Drinking a cup of tea through a teethbrushed mouth
5. Listening to his wife sleeping and Blade Runner with his left ear

Well, maybe I’m alone but I’m amused and I guess that counts for something. Time to set the sleep timer and try to get close to my 8 hours!

Hi all,

I hope this blog finds you well, and of course intrigued to read more of my work. I thought I’d let you know where I’m up to with regards to my projects and give you a couple of inserts – feel free to contact me if the taster just isn’t enough!!!

Vigilante – 1,300 words into Chapter V:

“I re-engage my idle brain but in doing so I can now hear someone walking behind me, or at least I think I can hear them. I’m not sure if they are following me or just walking in the same direction, and if they are following me waiting to jump me why didn’t they do it in the park, away from the public. I’m not sure of anything just yet – but I’m sure I need to be certain so I can figure out what to do. I decide to keep to the well lit streets, try to catch a glimpse of my pursuer in the reflection of car windows, or from their shadow being cast below me from street lights behind us and I employ further tactics to cross the road at sporadic intervals and approach my destination with illogical twists and turns – if after 5 minutes of doing this he is still behind me then its not a coincidence, I’m being stalked.”

5hit Stories – Chapter X completed:

“Malcolm was concerned. He had returned from his adventure and couldn’t find his nuts. While he distinctly remembered leaving them by the fireplace they were no longer there, an educated being would suspect theft, Malcolm concluded that the nuts had evolved, grown legs and were either hiding, waiting to ambush him or had run away for a better life. Gideon (Malcolm’s treemate) stumbled out his bedroom, he had a stench of nuts on him which Malcolm didn’t find suspicious.”

Hi all, I’ve finally set time aside to edit the website – I’ve removed the old posts (for now at least) and now you can see the projects I’m currently working on… I’ll add a page or two for Charlotte too but please have a look at the new pages and comment if you feel is necessary.

Movie Review – White Men Can’t Jump (1992)

Not seen since… January 2004

Oh but they can… I’m sorry its been three months since I’ve put any reviews on here. In truth we’ve watched lots of movies I’ve just been too lazy to put them up here… back to the movie…

Painfully awkward to watch (not because the acting is bad but because of the moral decisions the main characters keep struggling with). Its a great movie with moments that’ll make you laugh out loud and shout at the screen.

8/10 – I can always watch this.

Movie Review – X-Men: The Last Stand

Not as amazing as the first two but still a pretty solid film if you try to ignore Vinnie Jones. Its good in that it throws in some shocks but bad in the same light. Its funny, dark and compelling, performances are great as are the effects.

8/10 – Certainly one to watch, own and re-watch.

Movie Review – The Hills Have Eyes (2007)

I wasn’t expecting much from this film but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Its sick and twisted enough to please the weirdos, and the end is fantastic, a real treat of a movie. Admittedly I’ve not seen the original but if its anything on this then I’m looking forward to it.

8/10 – horrid and wonderful

Movie Review – Donnie Darko

Great soundtrack and musical score. Its feels a little American Beauty throughout with slow awkward characters and storylines which slowly develop. It won’t necessarily make you want to watch it again but its worth a watch for some great performances.

6/10 – Its good, but its not great.

Movie Review – Dance Of The Dead

Cheap, tacky and pointless but oh so entertaining. Great gore, shoddy acting, silly plot lines, badly written characters but its clear its deliberate so it makes it okay.

Movie Review – Crash (2004)

Not the car crash victim sex fiend movie but the racist fascist “nearly everyone is moody” movie. Its very conflicted, the characters are all pretty angry about everything and its quite awkward to watch. Saying that its very good at what it does, makes you feel good and bad when they make you want to feel it. You’ll get to the end and wonder exactly what you’re supposed to feel but its okay.

8/10 – awkward but in a good way

Movie Review – The Slaughter

One of the best movies I’ve ever purchased for a pound. The first half is rubbish (unless of course you count the first few minutes where you get to see boobs) and the second half is equally as bad but you get a sense they know its a rubbish movie and are having fun with it so it makes it tolerable.

6/10 – I’ve watched worse, holds its value
