No matter how many times I fall asleep to this movie (in the good way) it still amazes me.  Its got everything you need in a film and more.  Its got kick arse marines full of lovable charm, Sigourney Weaver looking hot, nasty alien creatures who you kinda want to win, motion sensors that make the scariest noises ever, brilliant sound effects, great special effects, death, destruction, chaos, panic… I could go on…

10/10, perfect for every occasion.

A very moving and touching film.  The classical soundtrack is gentle, beautiful and while suttle it is powerful all the same.  The action is gritty, slick and (unlike many movies) easy to follow and extremely hard hitting.  The dialogue is limited but this is not a limiting critique, the lack of dialogue allows the actors to impress us with their expressions, which they do with some delight.  The film is silently graceful, it will draw you in and satisfy your desire for a fully rounded movie.

Own it and let it take pride in your collection. 9/10.

Denzel Washington is mumbly, bumbly and awesome, oh and a police chief who gets himself in just a little bit of trouble.  For its dark tones its a very light hearted movie.  Its a good little film full of humour and nice little touches… oh and a little bit of action to boot.  If you ever wondered what happened to Dean Cain (New Adventures of Superman) well you find out he’s in this movie, with facial hair, brilliant twist, never saw it coming.

Yeah, pretty good. 8/10.

090201-day-one-2Thats right, its that time again where by the power of my birthday I’m allowed to grow facial hair, silly big facial hair.  With the success of the Mario Moustache at Halloween but the sad fact I only had it for a few days means that this year I’m going to try and grow a Mega Moustache much to the disgust of my lovely wife.  Watch this face.
